9% of the waste on our beaches, consists of plastic cotton buds. On just 46 beaches, monitored between 2016 and 2017, almost 7,000 were found: 1 cotton bud every step on the sand, to be precise 79 every 100 meters. Since then, non-biodegradable cotton swabs have been banned and fortunately the situation is improving!
